Mike and I met in grade 6 at our middle school. I had a crush on him, of course, and to my delight he asked me out at the beginning of Grade 7 and we started "dating".. you know, as 12 year old dating goes.
After almost a year we decided to break up, and I think we both regretted it. We didn't see each other much throughout high school. Luckily, we ended up randomly meeting up again 6 years later and rekindled the romance!
After 4 years, we had talked a lot about the idea of marriage but were going to wait to get engaged until we could afford a wedding. Then on a random weekend in August, Mike told me we had to go to my sister's place (in our home town) because she asked him for help moving some furniture. To my surprise, we drove right past my sister's house and pulled up to our middle school where Mike took me to the picnic table we used to sit on at recess, got down on one knee and told me he loved me and wanted to be with me forever. I was so surprised, it was the best engagement ever! I included a picture of the two of us in Grade 7 sitting on our picnic table :)
