My fiancee and I met at my job. I am currently a college professor at North Carolina A&T State University and he was stationed at my job as an instructor for the ROTC program. He is currently in the Army and has served 20 years. We met when he arrived to the school and we started dating a few months later. Since I am also a law student and had no time for dating he courted me by driving me to school (I commute about 1.5 hours one way) and/or talking to me on the ride back and forth. He also would study with me late at night or on weekends (and he still does). He surprised me with this BIG proposal! ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3SnWIMig7g
) Like I said I an a college professor who also serves as the academic advisor for the marching band and they planned this beautiful proposal on the field playing a song I remember marching to when I was a college student in the same band.
He spoke to the drum major (who is also one of his ROTC cadets) who took it to the band director who loved the idea. So, if you will look at the 6 minute mark (the entire performance is great though, so you should watch the entire thing) you will see the beginning of Keith Sweats song, Make it Last Forever.
It took place in Greensboro, NC on September 20, 2014. The Photographer is Jarelle Haris ( https://www.facebook.com/jarrelle.harris?fref=ts ) who also works for the band.
