What Types Of Access Control Are Available?

The two main types of access control systems are: standalone or PC based.

Standalone Access Control For Doors

For smaller commercial premises with a limited number of visitors, standalone access control systems are usually more appropriate. This type of system can be used on one or multiple doors in your commercial premises. By entering a pin on a keypad or using a proximity tag, access is granted to staff members. With these systems, each door system is programmed independently. This means numerical codes need altering at every door when changes are undertaken. If you have a larger premises a network access control system may be more appropriate. 

Networked Access Control

This type of access control system on a network can all users and doors can be programmed via PC software. For larger business premises, this is the ideal solution as tokens can be denied access to all entries creating a more agile and secure solution. Network access control solutions can also produce reports so you can manage where each user has been on the premises.
