Mor Smiles 4 Kids is a dentist that's just for kids! Dr. Josh Morales aims to provide an efficient, clean and respectful environment for both children and parents. He will work with you to find the best treatment option for your child and your family's needs. His goal is to treat each patient as though they were his own by providing them with a safe and caring environment where they can grow up without fear of the dentist.

Meet

Josh Morales, DDS

Dr. Morales was born and raised in The Lone Star State, and is proud to be a native Texan. He completed his university training at North Texas and dental school at Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Morales completed his residency in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He has excelled throughout his academic career; a few of his most recent achievements are scoring top marks on his written and verbal pediatric dental board exams. Dr. Morales resides in Woodforest, and has been helping kids smile in Montgomery county since 2017. When he is out of the office, you can often find him outdoors or enjoying a soccer match.

When Should I Start Bringing My Child to the Dentist?

The American  Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends taking children to the dentist for their first check-up by their first birthday. By getting your child into a dental routine early on, you can help them develop healthy oral care habits that will propel them forward with confidence. Finding a pediatric dental specialist to walk with you through your child's oral health journey will ensure a lifetime of healthy smiles.

  • What should I expect at my child's first dental appointment?

    At your child's first dental appointment, Dr. Morales will thoroughly examine their teeth and gums. We may also take x-rays to identify any possible problems. Dr. Morales will then discuss their findings with you and develop a treatment plan, if necessary.

  • How often should my child visit the dentist?

    The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children visit the dentist every six months, starting at around one year old.This schedule allows Dr. Morales to keep an eye on your child's teeth and gums, and to spot any problems early. Of course, if you have any concerns about your child's dental health in between visits, don't hesitate to bring them in for a check-up.

  • My child is scared of the dentist - what can I do?

    If your child is scared of the dentist, you're not alone. Many kids are fearful of going to the dentist, and it can be tough to know how to help them overcome their fears. One option that may be helpful is sedation dentistry.


    Sedation dentistry involves giving your child medication to help them relax during their dental appointment. Dr. Morales and his team are experienced in providing sedation services for children, as they will be able to tailor the level of sedation to your child's needs.

  • Why should I bring my child to a pediatric dentist instead of seeing a regular dentist?

    Dentists, like doctors, can specialize in different fields. Pediatric dentists concentrate exclusively on the care of teeth in babies, kids and teens. As a parent, you know that kids have thoughts and feelings that aren’t always predictable, and it can take a special kind of know-how to engage with them. Not every licensed dentist has the patience to work with kids, and many kids certainly don’t have the patience to work with the average dentist. Dr. Morales intentionally put in extra years of training beyond dental school to become an expert in the emotional and developmental needs of children.
