The Dominica Association of Industry & Commerce has circulated a New Tariff Structure presented by the Independent Regulatory Commission and DOMLEC the power utility company.

Members of the Dominica Chamber of Commerce are asked to review the documents which outlines key changes to electricity rates that will affect all customer categories, including residential, commercial, industrial, hotel, and small business customers.

The documents detail:

  • Introduction of Time-of-Use (ToU) rates for peak and off-
  • peak usage
  • A new Small Business category for non-domestic users consuming less than 500 kWh/month
  • Adjustments to the rate-making process and base charges
  • Replacement of installed capacity charges with monthly
  • maximum demand charges
  • Benefits including more accurate cost allocation, improved efficiency, and customer flexibility

These changes aim to create a more balanced, transparent, and cost-efficient electricity pricing model in Dominica.
