Biography
Wesley Frevert, M.D. is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with a Sports Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Frevert grew up in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, returning to practice in his hometown. At a young age, he knew he wanted to be an orthopaedic surgeon when he was able to see many of his fathers’ patients approach to thank him for the care given to them. Throughout his medical training, Dr. Wesley Frevert saw firsthand how orthopaedic procedures can change people’s lives and he sought to earn that same gratitude. As a sports medicine specialist, he recognizes that many of his patients desire to return to demanding or competitive activities. This challenge, and the reward of seeing his patients’ successful outcomes, is what he finds most rewarding. In his spare time, he enjoys playing or watching a variety of sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Dr. Wesley Frevert received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Truman State University. After obtaining his medical degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Medicine, he completed residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Florida Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship and Arthroscopic Surgery at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center.
Dr. Wesley Frevert actively supports the local community by providing team physician coverage at area high schools during the fall football season.
He has authored scientific research articles and has presented his research at both regional and national academic conferences.
He is an active member of AAOS-American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Missouri State Medical Association and Eastern Jackson County Physicians Comprehensive Health Care IPA.
