About Us

Hi! I'm Cris, the main blogger behind Book At Me Now a book review blog. While Book At Me Now started in 2020, I've been blogging since 2002. I started this blog as a way to remember what I've read and share my thoughts on various genres of books with you, hear your thoughts on books, and share my inner bookworm with all. My favorite fiction genres are mystery, thriller, historical, drama, chick lit, coming-of-age, suspense, and young adult. Not a fan of romance or westerns. For non-fiction, I love books in the biography, health/fitness, memoir, philosophy, new-age/spiritual, and self-help genres. We do accept indie books and self-published books review and prefer hard copies or audiobooks over ebooks.

Outside of loving to read. I'm a mom and love to encourage the love of reading from a young age. I taught my daughter how to read way back when she and I were at home doing tot school and plan to introduce tot school to my youngest son soon. We're currently working on baby sign language! I love working out - yoga, running, dancing - as well as camping (with a shower available but a tent is perfect depending on the temperature!), hiking, and for some downtime movie watching, tv show binging, and video gaming (currently playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Sims 4). Before Covid-19, I loved to travel and couldn't pick between the mountains and the beach.

What once was a mommy blog helped me create a career in digital marketing and I've worked with and managed brands like JCPenney, Sephora, ACTIVE, Couch-to-5K, Reserve America, and more! Running the day to day social media channels for these along with compiling analytics reports, managing and strategizing paid campaigns, directing photoshoots alongside the content calendars as well as community management. With this blog, I hope to partner with new and seasoned authors looking for an honest book review and am open to other paid brand collaborations. Email us at reviews@bookatmenow.com for our current rate sheets and to request a media kit.

I started reading before I even started school and I am thankful that I could. Reading provided me with an escape from my small-town trailer park life and gave me insight into many worlds I would never have seen otherwise. Escaping from my not so happy family life was a bonus. Growing up, I read things like Boxcar Children. Babysitters Club, Gossip Girl, Harry Potter, and anything I could check out at our local library. My bags were always full of books and even when walking through the school hallways, I'd often be stuck in a book, ignoring everything around me. My favorite presents at birthdays and Christmas were Barnes & Nobles gift cards or gift cards to other book stores (still are!).

Follow me on my social channels below or send me an email, I'd love to hear about you and your latest reading adventure!

Hello, I'm Martin! The other blogger here at Book At Me Now. My all-time favorite book is There's a Monster at the End of this Book. I must have had my Mom read me that book a thousand times when I was a child, now I enjoy reading it to our son. I would classify myself as a well-read individual, but the internet and screens and short reads and news have crippled my intentions span, and I can barely get thru a book these days without it being a chore to stay focused. Forget about an audiobook, I usually drift off into a daydream while I have one going and have to constantly rewind. I much rather read a non-fiction work than fiction these days but can make a sacrifice or two for a good review. The best way to shop for books is at Goodwill where I can come home with a dozen books for less than $10.
