Excellent sailing properties make learning easier for beginners. Both beginners and advanced sailors will feel right at home with the Varianta VA18. The sailboat sets off in weak winds. The Varianta VA18 combines all of this in a boat length of 5.5 meters. It convinces with very good sailing performance with the simplest handling and remains easy to maneuver even with a lot of sail cloth (gennaker). The cabin offers space for a cozy weekend for two or with one or two small children. Our Varianta VA18 is well equipped above and below deck and is therefore also suitable for small tours and short holidays.

This boat serves the student

In our opinion, the focus when learning to sail should not be on the device (boat) itself. A school boat should be as straightforward and unpretentious as possible so that handling is straightforward and intuitive. Beginners quickly get a good feeling for sailing itself and can concentrate on test maneuvers and seamanship instead of on the boat itself. A school boat must serve the learner and not the other way around. This enables a rapidly increasing learning curve and maximum learning effect to be achieved without hectic rush. The Varianta VA18 offers exactly this performance and has a big advantage over sophisticated high-tech boats that might do well for the regatta track but not necessarily for learning to sail. Aside from the financial aspect, there is a good reason why car driving schools do not use sports cars or buses for learning driving lessons.
