Arnhem Highway Upgrade - Adelaide River Floodplain
The Arnhem Highway - Adelaide River floodplain upgrade project is a significant infrastructure undertaking aimed at upgrading 9km of the Arnhem Highway across the Adelaide River floodplain.
The project's objective is to reduce road closures during the wet season along the Arnhem Highway due to flooding, providing economic and safety benefits for road users.
The upgraded section of the highway will be built next to the existing road alignment and include raising the road height, drainage structures, and 13 bridge structures along the new alignment. The Stage 2 program will upgrade a 3km section of the Arnhem Highway with a new four-span bridge at the Beatrice Hill Causeway.
