Hunters and Fisherman, checkout our outdoor sporting page where you will find information on hunting and fishing guide services, bait shops and sporting goods within the area.

GOLF COURSES:  For those of you who are golf enthusiasts,  this page will give you a brief description of the area golf courses.

Rhinelander Logging Museum:   One of Rhinelander's main attractions with displays of century old logging memorabilia.  Admission is free.

Rhinelander School Museum:   The school building has been restored so that today's children and adults can see what school was like in the rural areas years ago.

CCC Museum:  CCC stands for Civilian Conservation Corps. The museum provides a fascinating glimpse of the CCC work camp, and an actual barracks replica.

 ATV TrailsRoads are connected to trails from all of our resorts.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS

Canoe and Kayak:  The Northern Wisconsin area has a wonderful variety of canoeing and kayaking rivers.

Great Wisconsin Birding and Nature Trail: Is a mapped auto trail that reaches into every area of the state. Full-color viewing guides with maps and descriptions of every site. 

Northwoods Children Museum: Located in Eagle River based on the idea that children learn best by doing, not viewing. Open year round. 715-479-4623.

Ride the Lumberjack Special Steam Train: Located in Laona. Visit a whole other world. Travel 100 years back in time to the early logging days in Wisconsin.

Area Airport:  Rhinelander/Oneida County Airport: Located in North Central Wisconsin, two miles west Rhinelander. on the north side of U.S. Highway 8. Parking is available at $6.00 per calendar day.  For more information contact the airport at 1-800-225-2525.  

Brekke's Fireside Resort: Pontoon boat rental on Lake George.  715-369-3112.

Hospital:  Ascension/St. Mary's is located at 2251 North Shore Drive.  Call 715-361-2000 for more information.

Shoeder's Marine:  Located on Hwy 17 in Rhinelander.  Boat and snowmobile rental call 715-365-7722.

YMCA of the Northwoods: Located at 2003 Winnebago Street East. 

NATURE TRAILS

Long Lake Nature Trail:  For a refreshing walk that will take you away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.  Near Long Lake, close to Clear Lake, Lake George and Lake Thompson.

Bearskin State Park Trail: The Bearskin State Park Trail consists of 18 miles of abandoned railroad grade. It stretches between Minocqua and County High K in Oneida County.

Washburn Lake Trail:  Thanks to a variety of terrain, the Oneida County Forest trails have long been popular with cross country skiers.
