Restorative dentistry is a branch of dental care that focuses on repairing and restoring damaged teeth. When preventive care is not enough, restorative treatments can help to bring your child’s smile back to exceptional oral health. Restorative treatments can range from simple procedures, such as fillings for cavities, to more complex procedures, such as extractions of non-restorable teeth. In all cases, restorative dentistry is designed to help your child maintain a healthy smile. If you are concerned about the state of your child’s oral health, please don’t hesitate to contact our office for an evaluation. With restorative dentistry, your child’s smile can be healthy and beautiful once again.
First, Dr. Morales will need to perform a comprehensive visual exam. X-rays will be taken and used to assess your child’s oral health and determine the extent of the issue.
Once an accurate diagnosis is made, Dr. Morales will recommend a treatment plan to address the issues. He may provide a few options for treatment, discuss the pros and cons of each, and explain his recommendation to resolve the issue.
Dr. Morales offers sedation options for your child if they feel sedation is necessary, or if it will make the child more comfortable during their treatment. These treatments can help your child feel a lot less nervous and anxious about their appointment, and get the restorative care they need.
In some cases, treatment may begin immediately, but you’ll usually have to schedule a separate appointment for restorative care unless your child has a serious dental emergency.
