How the ZYTO Link Scan Works
The ZYTO Link app combines leading-edge health assessment technology with ZYTO’s proprietary scanning process. The result is a fast, accurate wellness scan that provides a wealth of information, including top essential oils and supplements the body prefers.
1. Video capture
ZYTO Link utilizes a technology known as transdermal optical imaging (TOI) to gather key information about your health and wellness. TOI uses your smartphone camera to detect and analyze the blood-flow patterns in your face.
2. Vital measurements
ZYTO Link measures a variety of health and wellness indicators based on facial blood-flow analysis:
- Heart Rate
- Heart Rate Variability
- Breathing Rate
- Sin Age
- Mental Stress Index
TOI measurements from the Link scan are comparable to traditional methods of measuring cardiovascular health and stress. For example, research has found that TOI heart-rate measurements are accurate to within +/- 1 beats per minute when compared against electrocardiogram (ECG) measurements.
3. Biomarker scan
The unique, real-time measurements from the facial blood-flow analysis are incorporated into the ZYTO scanning algorithm. This algorithm then determines your priority score for each biomarker in the Link library.
Using proprietary analytical tools, the Link app establishes your baseline, which you might think of as your “normal” or “resting” score. This baseline is displayed graphically next to each biomarker. Biomarkers with a higher score than your baseline are considered “out of range,” while those that have a lower score than your baseline are considered “in range.”
4. Product and services scan
Along with scanning nearly 200 biomarkers, the Link app scans products from doTerra Essential Oils product Line to determine which ones bring the most out-of-range biomarkers back into range. Other holistic services are also scanned as additional options for wellness support. Like biomarkers, products and services are digital representations of the actual items.

What information is included in the reports?
ZYTO Link includes the following reports:
- Report Summary – Shows the body’s heart rate, heart-rate variability, breathing rate, facial skin age, mental stress level, and overall biomarker responses.
- Systems – Provides more detail about the specific biomarker responses. You can see the overall responses to the various systems, lifestyle areas, and emotions, and drill down into each category to view the specific biomarker responses. This report also allows you to see the top products for each category, as well as the top products across any categories that you select.
- Products – Shows the top 5 products the body responded to overall, along with how many biomarkers each product brings into range.
- Services – Shows the top 5 services the body responded to overall, along with how many biomarkers each service brings into range.

What are biomarkers?
In the Link app, biomarkers are digital representations of actual components of the body, such as organs, glands, and systems.
In addition, biomarkers also include lifestyle and environmental factors that impact the body, such as sleep, emotions, and toxins.
After incorporating your measurements from the face scan, the ZYTO algorithm establishes your baseline score, which you might think of as your “normal” or “resting” score. Biomarkers are then compared with this baseline.
Biomarkers with a higher score than your baseline are considered “out of range,” while those that have a lower score than your baseline are considered “in range.”
In other words, Out-of-Range Biomarkers are those that the body responded to in a less-than-ideal way and require some support to bring back into range.

What do the numbers next to the biomarkers in the Systems Report mean?
The number next to each biomarker is a priority score. Out-of-range biomarkers with higher scores should be prioritized first.

What products should I select in the Products Report?
Generally, you’ll want to select products starting from the top until all the biomarkers are brought into range. (This is shown at the top of the Products Report.) You may also want to add other products from the Systems Report that don’t show up on this list. Services from the Services Report may also be added for additional support or as a replacement for one or more products.
ZYTO LINK SECURITY
The ZYTO Link app provides valuable inform
ation about the body without compromising privacy or security.
The Link app does not use facial recognition technology to identify you.
Instead, Link uses transdermal optical imaging (TOI) to measure blood flow beneath the surface of the face.
Only the raw blood-flow data from TOI measurements is uploaded for analysis, not the images/video itself.
Images/video of your face are also not saved or stored in the Link app or elsewhere.
ZYTO securely stores the personal data you provide (name, email, etc.) using the latest encryption technology.
ZYTO does not and will not sell your personal information to third parties.
To protect your data offline, only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information.
