Extractions
Make Room for Improvements
Although adult teeth are supposed to last a lifetime, sometimes they need to be removed to keep you healthy. Our team will discuss all options with you for your particular situation. If you conclude that extraction is the best option, we are here to help make the process go smoothly.
What to Expect at your Tooth Extraction
Sedation options are available for patients receiving extractions. There are a variety of sedation medications and we will discuss all options with you before your treatment. We take every measure to make sure even minor surgical procedures are as comfortable as possible.
If sedation is not for you, your comfort is still our top priority. We will apply anesthesia to numb the area around your tooth. Once the anesthesia takes effect, Dr. Noreen Goldwire uses specialized instruments to elevate the tooth out of place.
You will receive specific post-op instructions to help you care for the area after your procedure. If you experience any complications or concerns after your extraction, don't hesitate to give us a call.
Next Steps
After your extraction, there are multiple options for tooth replacements. Leaving a space is always an option, but spaces in your smile can create function and appearance challenges. Teeth slowly shift or migrate into open spaces and cause function issues. If we minimize the effects of an unbalanced bite now can prevent issues later in life.
