How Laser Therapy Works

The K-Laser is a Type IV infrared laser. It emits light at the edge of the visible range and beyond to provide controlled heating and stimulation of your tissues. This laser therapy makes your body more efficient at using energy so that it can heal more quickly and resolve pain.

Benefits of K-Laser TMJ Therapy

We all know the soothing power of heat when your muscles are tense and sore. But If K-laser works by heat, what makes it better than a heating pad or other lasers? There are three reasons why K-Laser is better than other laser and heat therapy methods.

Effectiveness

K-Laser therapy is very effective at stimulating precise effects that stimulate healing. Most heat sources provide a broad, blunt distribution of heat. While this can sometimes provide the types of heat that are beneficial, it isn’t guaranteed that it will have much or any of the precise types needed to stimulate your body’s healing mechanisms.

However, K-Laser emits light at precise frequencies to stimulate the body’s ability to heal. Light at 970 nm is efficiently absorbed by the water in the blood, which speeds the flow of blood through capillaries so more resources are brought in and more waste is removed. Light at 905 nm stimulates your red blood cells to release oxygen more efficiently. The more oxygen the cells get, the more energy they can use for healing. Finally, light at 800 nm stimulates the action of the mitochondria, the power factory in your cells. This helps cells burn more oxygen to fuel healing.

Precision

As we mentioned above, most heat sources contain a broad distribution of heat sources and types. This can be bad for the body. While some heat can heal, heat can also burn. Even if you don’t feel or see a burn, the damage could be slowing your healing.

The precise wavelengths produced by the K-laser help to maximize healing and minimize thermal damage. That way your body doesn’t get set back in its healing.

Penetration

Heat applied to the surface of your skin has limitations: it can only penetrate so far into the body. However, the K-Laser light can penetrate deeply into your body, extending the healing zone to several inches. This extends the benefit beyond the skin to include the jaw muscles and joint tissue. That way, it can really impact the root cause of TMJ disorders and headaches.
