Here at Pasadena Pets Animal Hospital we are extremely involved in teaching and training and have created an entire Internship Program. We have our entire staff working together to help teach all areas of the hospital setting. There are four major types of Internships to choose from.
Ready to learn more? This internship program is the perfect fit for:
• Pre-veterinary students who are still working towards their degree. (Must have completed their 2nd year of school. Max limit of 250 hours.)
• Veterinary technician students who have internship or externship hours that need to be completed.
• Veterinary assistant students who need to complete internship hours.
These internship programs are extremely hands-on and are supervised by our team of specialties in each related field of study. Interns will complete tasks and goals that relate to running labs, collecting samples, handling pets, cleaning ears, and surgical prep, to name a few.
During our program, interns will also learn how to:
• Administer IV catheters
• Draw blood
• Collect tissue samples
• Document animal behavior
• Handle fluid pumps
• Dose medication
• Run diagnostics
• Run blood work in the lab
• Surgical prep
• Dental cleanings
• Anesthesia monitoring and more!
This type of experience has given former interns the upper hand in working in related fields of experience within the veterinary space. Our goal is to make sure that we provide an environment where our students can grow and gain truly valuable hands-on experience and skills that will aid them in their future careers.
